Well, there has always been a debate on "art vs. marketing", and anyone who pays attention is aware of the very different thoughts on the subject. My philosophical leanings on this issue are irrelevant - after having for some time believed that not all relationships are created to transact business, however, I have found myself thinking about the reality that this is most definitely a business venture, and that there are things that one must simply "do". Of course, any "salesmanship" has to be handled gracefully, particularly in the age of free business cards - nothing comes from aggression, as they say.
